How to Join

We welcome people with a genuine interest in magic — as a hobby or professionally. Here is how to become a member.

Candidates should be 16 or over and proposed by two current members. If you do not know any members yet, our process introduces you to the council and the club.

1. Take the first step

An application tells the council you would like to join. The Secretary is notified straight away.

2. Meet the Circle

  1. An informal chat with the council about your interest in magic.
  2. Attend three club evenings (£15 each) to meet members, see what we do, and gather the two member signatures required to join.
  3. If the council agrees you are a good fit, you are invited to audition before the members.

3. The audition

After your audition you will leave while council and members discuss and vote. You will receive the outcome by email or letter. If successful, a one-off joining fee and the annual subscription are due.

The council keeps this application for membership. It is not published on the website.
